Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation

The Yoga program at Shree Raghunath Temple offers traditional yogic practice — asanas, pranayama and meditation — for adults and children alike. Sessions are held in the cultural hall at the temple premises.

Schedule: Sessions typically run early morning, 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM, on selected days. Refer to the temple calendar or contact the office for the current term schedule.

🧘 Asanas (Postures)

Traditional yoga postures starting from foundational standing and seated poses, progressing to more advanced variations as you grow.

🌬️ Pranayama (Breathing)

Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati, Bhramari and other breathing techniques for vitality, focus and stress relief.

🕉️ Meditation

Guided meditation, mantra meditation and silent sitting practice — building inner calm and concentration.

🌅 Surya Namaskar

The complete twelve-step Sun Salutation — a complete body workout combining movement, breath and gratitude.

💪 Strength & Flexibility

Gentle progressions to build core strength, joint mobility and overall flexibility — adapted for every body.

📖 Yoga Philosophy

Brief introduction to the Yoga Sutras, the eight limbs (ashtanga) and the values behind authentic yogic living.

Who Can Join

Sessions for Every Age & Level

Adults — Beginner

Perfect for absolute beginners. Slow-paced, with detailed instruction on alignment, breathing and modifications.

Adults — Intermediate

For practitioners comfortable with foundational poses. More variety in sequencing and longer holds.

Seniors / Gentle

Chair-supported and gentle floor practice for older adults — focus on mobility, balance and breath.

Children & Teens

Fun, age-appropriate yoga sessions for children — playful asanas, breathing games and short meditations.

Family Yoga

Practise together — special sessions where parents and children practise side-by-side.

International Yoga Day

Special open community sessions and workshops every 21st June — free and open to all.

Practical Info

Before You Come

What to Bring

  • Your own yoga mat (a few spare mats may be available)
  • Comfortable, loose clothing for free movement
  • A small towel and water bottle
  • An empty stomach (light snack 2 hours before is fine)

Etiquette & Safety

  • Arrive 10 minutes early to settle in
  • Remove footwear before entering the practice hall
  • Inform the instructor of any injuries or medical conditions
  • Pregnant practitioners — please consult your doctor first
